Nearly +38 °C in the shade: Mykolaiv broke the 1963 temperature record
The new reading exceeded the previous one by 2.5 °C
In Mykolaiv on June 30, 2026 a new temperature record for that day was recorded. As of 15:00 the maximum air temperature reached +37.9°C.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology.
The previous absolute maximum for June 30 was +35.4°C. It was recorded back in 1963.
Thus, the temperature in Mykolaiv has already exceeded the previous record by 2.5°C. The record that stood for 63 years has been broken.
At the same time, the +37.9°C recorded as of 15:00 is not yet the final maximum for the day. Meteorologists will determine the exact figure after the end of the meteorological day.
The record in Mykolaiv was a continuation of the anomalous heat that has gripped the region in recent days. Earlier, maximum temperatures for June 28 were also exceeded in Voznesensk, Ochakiv and Berezanka.
