They save people and take silver: Mykolaiv State Emergency Service rescuers delivered a powerful performance at BEST 2026
Strength, endurance and team spirit: rescuers from Mykolaiv region finished second among 33 teams
Mykolaiv rescuers won the silver medals at the All-Ukrainian multisport festival BEST 2026. The team of the State Emergency Service (DSNS) of Mykolaiv region took second place in the overall team standings among 33 teams. This was reported by the Mykolaiv State Emergency Service (DSNS) on June 3, 2026.
The festival BEST 2026 – Bukovel Elite Sports Trophy – took place from May 28 to June 1. The competition brought together the strongest members of security forces and servicemembers from various regions of Ukraine.
The Mykolaiv region rescue team was represented by Denys Tykhankov, Mykola Florenko, Ruslan Danyliuk and Oleksandr Onoprienko. They performed admirably at the festival, demonstrating a high level of physical fitness, endurance and team coordination.
Based on the results, the Mykolaiv rescuers won first place in Concept rowing with a time of 100 seconds. In the team bench press at 70 kg they took third place. The main achievement for the team was second place overall among 33 teams.
Team members also showed strong results in individual disciplines. Denys Tykhankov earned a silver medal in the 100 kg bench press. Ruslan Danyliuk became the Ukrainian strongman champion in the 80 kg weight category. Oleksandr Onoprienko won silver in the strongman 110 kg category. Also, Stanislav Siroklin placed eighth in the kettlebell snatch and entered the top 10 among 66 participants.
Participants emphasized that such events test not only physical strength but also character and the ability to work as a unified team.
“Every competition is a test of strength, character and team spirit,” the participants note.
The Mykolaiv region rescue team brought significant results from the festival, confirming that even during the war Ukrainian rescuers remain strong, resilient and ready for difficult challenges — both in service and on sporting arenas.
