At the wastewater treatment facilities in Mykolaiv, electricity was stolen to charge private cars — Mykolaivvodokanal
Equipment for private vehicles installed without authorization was connected to the municipal enterprise's network without approvals, and an inspection uncovered lapses in control and work discipline
In Mykolaiv, on the premises of the Varvarivka sewage treatment facilities, an unauthorized charging device for private vehicles was discovered, connected to the electrical network of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» without approvals, after which the employees involved were reprimanded and deprived of bonuses.
The security directorate of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» reported the incident, publishing a message on its Telegram channel.
An inspection confirmed that a charging device for private vehicles had been installed on the site of the Varvarivka treatment facilities and connected to the enterprise’s network without any official permits or approvals.
The internal investigation additionally found a lack of proper supervision by the management of the relevant unit over the use of resources and compliance with labor discipline.
For the discovered violations, employees were subjected to disciplinary action in the form of reprimands and the withholding of bonus payments.
“The use of the enterprise’s property, equipment, electricity and other resources for private purposes without official approval is strictly prohibited,” the security directorate emphasized.
Earlier, “Mykolaivvodokanal” appealed to the NAZK with a request to review the enterprise’s anti-corruption activities (details), the management of the municipal enterprise publicly spoke about a crisis and corrupt practices that had been kept silent for years (statement), the supervisory board published its composition and the amounts of payments to its members (composition and payments), and the mayor, after a high-profile video, sharply criticized the work of the enterprise’s employees.
