9 years behind bars: Organizer of a postal drug scheme sentenced in Korabelnyi district
A Mykolaiv resident sent drugs in nasal-spray bottles and household appliances
In Mykolaiv, a court handed down a verdict to a man who organized a large-scale drug distribution scheme using parcel lockers and delivery services.
May 7, 2026 Korabelnyi District Court found the man guilty under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal acquisition, possession, and forwarding of narcotic and psychotropic substances in large and especially large amounts.
According to case materials, a resident of Mykolaiv during February–May 2025 set up a scheme to sell drugs through “Nova Poshta” parcel lockers and other delivery services. To conceal his activities he used fictitious personal details and disguised the prohibited substances inside various household items and packaging.
Among the items seized by law enforcement were cannabis, PVP, amphetamine, methamphetamine and the particularly dangerous psychotropic substance MDMB-4en-PINACA. The defendant sent part of the drugs to Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Pivdennoukrainsk, and other cities in Ukraine.
Court records indicate the drugs were hidden:
- in boxes from USB cables;
- in nasal spray bottles;
- among paper tissues;
- in jars and containers;
- in packages with decorative filler;
- even in a box with an electric kettle.
During a search of the rented apartment, law enforcement officers seized more than 33 grams of methamphetamine, amphetamine, PVP, cannabis, MDMB-4en-PINACA, electronic scales, packing materials and phones. According to expert conclusions, some of the substances amounted to especially large quantities.
Initially the defendant partially admitted guilt, but during the examination of evidence in court he fully confirmed his participation in the criminal scheme.
The court sentenced the man to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. In addition, he will be ordered to pay over 23,000 hryvnias for the costs of the expert examinations.
Additionally, the court ordered the seized narcotic substances to be destroyed and the mobile phones and scales to be confiscated as state property.
