A million from his grandfather and an SUV: a VLK doctor from Mykolaiv bought a Land Cruiser
They found more interesting details in the declaration
A doctor of the military medical commission from Mykolaiv declared a one million hryvnia gift from a relative and purchased an SUV. Certain details in the declaration raise questions about the valuation of the property.
The head of the angioneurology department City Hospital No. 1 of Mykolaiv and member of the VLK Volodymyr Nikulin in his declaration for 2025 indicated receiving 1 mln UAH as a gift.
According to him, the funds were provided by a relative; however, he refused to answer questions about the origin of the money.
“Mykola Vdovenko is my maternal grandfather. I don’t think this concerns you, me, or anyone else”, – Nikulin explained in a comment to a reporter of «Slidstvo.Info».
Nikulin spent the received funds on purchasing a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150, 2019 model year, which he bought in the autumn of 2025 for approximately 1.08 mln UAH, although the market value of such a vehicle is almost 2 mln UAH.
In addition, the declaration lists two more family cars with significantly undervalued estimates. In particular, the Lexus LX 470, 2007 was valued by the doctor at 20,000 UAH, while its market value is about 700,000 UAH. His wife’s car, a Hyundai Getz, 2007, was declared at 5,000 UAH, although the average market price is around 200,000 UAH.
According to the document, the family’s income for 2025 (excluding the gift) was just over 650,000 UAH, and 3,000 USD in savings were also declared.
It is also known that Volodymyr Nikulin filed his first declaration late after being appointed to the VLK in 2024. The court found him guilty of an administrative offense, but the case was closed due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
Court documents state that the doctor did not attend the hearings, and his defense repeatedly asked to postpone the proceedings for various reasons — from shifts to vacation abroad.
