The SBU detained employees of a TCC in Odesa who were extorting money
$30,000 in an official vehicle: a major scandal at the TRC in Odesa after the detention of a civilian
After a high-profile incident in Odesa, the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reacted promptly: the Commander-in-Chief decided to suspend the heads of Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center and Peresypskyi District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. The reason was the detention of servicemen from an alert group suspected of involvement in a criminal offense. At the same time, the Armed Forces launched an internal investigation, which has been entrusted to the head of the Main Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service.
“In connection with the detention by officers of the Internal Security Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine of servicemen of the alert groups of the Peresypskyi District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, an internal investigation has been initiated in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”
In the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center they confirmed the detention of their servicemen by SBU officers, but details are not being disclosed at this time. They stated full cooperation with law enforcement and emphasized a principled position on cleansing the system of violators. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred after an alert group stopped a civilian, placed him in an official vehicle, and during the trip $30,000 went missing from him. After that, the man was removed from the vehicle.
“The leadership of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center ensures full cooperation with authorized law enforcement officers to clarify all details. Our position remains unchanged: we are interested in full transparency and an objective investigation. Any violations of the law within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are unacceptable, and the systematic cleansing of the structure from persons who discredit the service is our priority”
