The case against a Russian National Guard serviceman from Tyumen for the rape of a 15-year-old in occupied Mykolaiv region has been sent to court
The actions were classified as violations of the laws and customs of war; the crime occurred in November 2022 during the occupation of a settlement
The Office of the Prosecutor General has completed the pre-trial investigation and forwarded an indictment to court against an officer of the Rosgvardiya mobile special-purpose unit from Tyumen Oblast, who is accused of cruel treatment of civilians, including physical violence and the rape of a minor, under part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the incident occurred in November 2022 in one of the settlements of Mykolaiv Oblast.
The investigation established that the Russian serviceman, while threatening with a weapon, forcibly put 2 underage girls into a car and transported them to an apartment where other Russian servicemen were present.
Under the pretext of checking a mobile phone and allegedly searching for information about Ukrainian servicemen, he struck the victim in the face with the buttstock of an assault rifle. After that he ordered the other occupiers to leave the premises, isolated the 15-year-old girl and raped her.
The suspect, who is an officer of the Rosgvardiya mobile special-purpose unit, is charged with violations of the laws and customs of war against the civilian population — under part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation in this case was carried out by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
