Zelensky: For the first time, we have sufficient arms to repel strikes by the Russian Federation
Ukrainian weapons and expertise are already attracting interest from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine for the first time has a sufficient level of armament to repel Russian strikes; he announced this in an address on the occasion of the Day of the Worker of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex April 13.
In the address the head of state emphasized a shift in the balance in favor of Ukraine and stressed that the country is now in stronger positions than in previous years of confrontation with Russia.
“For the first time in the history of our state we are armed sufficiently to defend against Russian strikes. Russia has not come for the first time to destroy us, Ukrainian statehood and freedom, but now Ukrainians are in stronger positions than before: in 2014, in the 20th century, and even earlier”
The president called this a historic result, stressing that Ukraine has not only withstood a full-scale war and is effectively defending itself, but has also gained the capability to carry out combat operations on the enemy’s territory.
Separately, Zelenskyy focused on the role of drones, which, he said, have significantly transformed approaches to waging war. At the same time, ground robotic platforms, electronic warfare systems, and domestic elements of air defense capable of countering ballistic threats are being developed in parallel.
In addition, Ukraine has reached high levels in the production of missiles, armored vehicles, artillery, and defense software. Ukrainian developments and combat experience are attracting the attention of partners in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
