Капітально відремонтована ділянка вулиці 6-ї Слобідської в Миколаєві

Major repairs have been completed on 6th Slobidska Street in Mykolaiv, between Tsentralnyi Avenue and 1st Viiskova Street. Two-way traffic is being introduced on the renovated section. The road is scheduled to open for traffic toward 1st Viiskova today, Friday, November 6, at 4:00 p.m. Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych announced the news.

Tram route No. 11 will resume service tomorrow.

According to the mayor, a final meeting was held and the repair work was inspected before the road opened. Several municipal companies and services worked on the section. The following work was carried out:

Mykolaiv CHP replaced underground utilities before roadwork began, so the new pavement would not have to be dug up again later.
Mykolaivelektrotrans Municipal Enterprise relaid the track-and-sleeper grid and replaced the overhead contact line supports.
LED lighting was installed along the section.
The intersection of 1st Viiskova and Stoliarna streets was repaired.
New road markings were applied.
Green spaces were tidied up.

A new traffic management plan was prepared specifically for the switch to two-way traffic. It was coordinated with designers and the police to ensure that the change would be safe.

After the road opens, municipal services will monitor traffic on the section. As Senkevych noted, the plan will be adjusted if necessary, taking residents’ feedback into account.

Meanwhile, a full renovation of pedestrian areas, sidewalk improvements, and additional lighting have been postponed because the city budget is currently limited.

The mayor urged drivers to pay close attention to the new traffic pattern on the repaired street and drive carefully.
