Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for playing Jaime Lannister in the series Game of Thrones, visited Mykolaiv on October 30, 2026. He was spotted at the local FREEDOM Art Pub. Meanwhile, social media posts began circulating claiming that British actor Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, had sharply criticized the visit. However, we could not find confirmation that he had made this statement.

Local musician Volodymyr Aleksieiev announced Coster-Waldau’s arrival in Mykolaiv on his Instagram page. According to him, the actor visited FREEDOM Art Pub, where he chatted with patrons and posed for photos with them. Volodymyr Aleksieiev noted that since 2016, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and supported the organization’s work.

Meanwhile, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau visited more than just Mykolaiv during his trip. According to media reports, the actor also visited Kyiv, went to the site of a Russian strike on a residential complex, and spoke with local residents. On the night of October 29, he was in the capital’s metro during an air raid alert. After that night, Coster-Waldau wrote on social media that it had been just one difficult evening for him, while for thousands of Ukrainians, sheltering during attacks is a necessity. The actor called for continued support for Ukraine’s civilian population.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has served as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador since 2016. The organization’s official website notes that his work focuses, among other things, on tackling inequality, climate change, and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
