A missing 13-year-old girl in Mykolaiv was found in the entrance of a building near her home

Late yesterday evening, police found 13-year-old Daryna Husieva in Mykolaiv. She had been reported missing after going for a walk. She was in the entrance of a building on Kosmonavtiv Street, not far from her home. The girl is safe and well; no unlawful acts were committed against her.

During the day on October 26, Daryna left home for a walk and did not return, after which police began searching for her. While out, the girl lost track of time. When she realized she was late, she became afraid that her mother would scold her. Because of this fear, the schoolgirl did not go home and instead stayed sitting in the building entrance.

Youth police officers spoke with the girl to prevent similar incidents, then handed her over to her relatives.

Police urged parents to maintain trusting relationships with their children: children should not be afraid to admit a mistake or ask for help. If a child goes missing, call the special line 102 immediately.
