A Volkswagen struck a pedestrian in a Mykolaiv courtyard: the man was killed
Police are establishing the identity of the deceased and the circumstances of the traffic accident
On the evening of October 15, a Volkswagen Jetta struck a pedestrian in the courtyard of building No. 20 on Pohranychna Street in Mykolaiv. The man died at the scene from his injuries.
According to police, the crash occurred at around 8:00 p.m. The car was driven by a 32-year-old woman who was driving through the courtyard. Preliminary information indicates that the pedestrian was lying in the roadway.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This provision concerns violations of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules by drivers that result in a victim’s death.
The circumstances of the collision and the identity of the deceased are still being established. At the time of the crash, the man was wearing a dark green sweatshirt and blue jeans.
