A damaged electronics store was targeted for looting in Mykolaiv
Chernoff Store is under 24/7 video surveillance and physical security
Unknown individuals attempted to rob the Chernoff Store electronics shop in downtown Mykolaiv. The store had been damaged in a Russian shelling attack.
The store described the attempted robbery as an effort to take advantage of someone else’s misfortune. Describing the boys, it noted the contrast between their masks and gloves and their conspicuous clothing and shoes:
“The guys decided to take advantage of someone else’s misfortune and make a little money. Masks, gloves, small backpacks, bright sweatshirts with numbers, and Nike and Adidas sneakers (so no one would remember them for sure). And yet they chose to rob one of the best-known electronics stores in the city center,” Chernoff Store said.
As the store emphasized, the premises are monitored around the clock by surveillance cameras and physical security.
After Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv on the night of October 10, photos and videos of the aftermath appeared online. The strike damaged residential buildings, shops, office spaces, and other civilian properties.
