356 windows shattered: nighttime strike on Mykolaiv damaged homes and businesses
Traffic on part of Blahovisnoho Street has been blocked; the number of damaged apartments is being determined
During the night of October 10, Russian Shahed-type drones attacked Mykolaiv. The strike in the city center damaged apartment buildings and businesses. The number of affected apartments is still being determined.
Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych listed the following consequences of the attack:
- 356 windows were shattered;
- 49 doors were shattered;
- two roofs were damaged.
According to the mayor, this location has now been hit by Russia for the second time during the full-scale war.
A boom lift is working next to a badly damaged four-story building. Specialists are preparing to dismantle slabs and other structures. Municipal workers are clearing debris, boarding up window openings, and inspecting the roofs. A commission is documenting the damage caused by the attack.
A section of Blahovisnoho (Nikolskaya) Street between Mariupolska and Heroes of the Rescuers (Lyahina) streets has been closed to traffic. Drivers are urged to take the closure into account when planning their routes.
The strike damaged the following on Soborna Street:
- shops;
- a pharmacy;
- a bar;
- a cheburek shop;
- several coffee shops.
The State Tax Service also reported damage to the administrative building of the regional State Tax Service office and the premises of one of its divisions. No employees were injured.
According to the Regional Military Administration, there were no casualties in the overnight attack.
