A 73-year-old woman was injured during a mobilization-related altercation in Kharkiv
Police have identified the man who, according to preliminary information, pushed the victim
Yesterday, October 8, a 73-year-old woman was injured during a conflict amid mobilization activities in Kharkiv’s Industrialnyi District. The victim was taken to a medical facility.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the woman saw men in military uniforms conducting mobilization activities on a surveillance camera that morning. She went outside to intervene in the conflict. During the incident, one of the men pushed her, causing her to fall.
That same Thursday, the victim’s son contacted the police and reported his mother’s injuries. Police identified the man who, according to preliminary information, pushed the woman.
Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of the Kharkiv District Police Directorate No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns the intentional infliction of injuries of moderate severity.
The law provides for the following possible penalties:
- corrective labor for up to 2 years;
- restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
