Electricity prices will not rise: Ukraine to keep tariffs unchanged throughout the heating season
The decision also applies to households with electric heating
Household consumers in Ukraine will pay the current electricity rates during the 2026–2027 heating season. The current rate for households is 4.32 hryvnias per 1 kWh.
The decision also covers households that use electric heating. The tariffs were maintained in view of the country’s current socioeconomic situation.
“Going forward, the Government will work to improve the tariff-setting system and introduce a fairer system of targeted support for citizens who truly need it,” Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi wrote.
Earlier, the prime minister said that Russia had shifted to launching mass attacks on energy infrastructure. He noted that Russian forces were targeting facilities in Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast and other regions.
“Since the summer, there has virtually not been a single day when the enemy has not attacked energy infrastructure. But this was the first attack on such a massive and combined scale since the end of last year’s heating season,” Serhii Koretskyi stressed.
The head of government also urged local authorities to check whether backup power systems at critical facilities in their communities were ready.
It is currently impossible to predict the scale and duration of power outages this winter. JSC Mykolaivoblenergo explains that they will depend on conditions in the power system and the level of consumption. The company says it will do everything possible to ensure the stable operation of the energy sector.
To keep the city’s infrastructure running reliably during this heating season, Mykolaiv is to receive 24 power transformers transferred from state to municipal ownership. Their total value exceeds 30 million hryvnias.
