Another strike on the Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge in Kyiv: the metro and surface transport have been suspended

This evening, October 1, a Russian drone again struck the roadway of the Southern Bridge in Kyiv. After the strike, metro and surface public transport traffic on the bridge was suspended. The consequences of the attack were reported by the city mayor Vitalii Klychko. According to Telegram @vitaliy_klitschko.

According to the mayor’s preliminary information, the impact caused damage to the following parts of the bridge:

• one bridge support;
• a guardrail;
• the roadway;
• the metro’s protective concrete barrier.

Metro workers are de-energizing the tracks. Emergency services are heading to the strike site.

The Russian drone also struck the guardrail, the roadway and the metro’s protective concrete barrier.

“Metro and surface public transport across the bridge are suspended”

Earlier that day, near the support section of the Southern Bridge, two drone strikes had already been recorded. At that time, metro and surface public transport traffic across the bridge was also suspended.
