Children's gratitude to the defenders: 11 drawings selected for buses in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, 11 winners of the children’s drawing contest “Thank you for defending” were chosen. Their works are to be digitized and placed on the buses of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivpastrans”. According to the enterprise, all 15 children whose drawings were recognized by the organizers have already received sweet gifts and visited the Mykolaiv Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The contest was organized by “Mykolaivpastrans” for Defenders and Defenderesses Day of Ukraine. Children were invited to express their gratitude to the people who are now defending Ukraine through their creativity.

The organizers summed up the following results:

• 11 winners were selected, whose drawings are being prepared for placement on the enterprise’s buses.
• Another 4 works were recognized in a separate category.
• All 15 children received sweet gifts and visited the regional museum of local lore.

During the museum tour, the young Mykolaiv residents learned more about the history and nature of their native region. Special attention was given to the hall of modern history of Ukraine, which covers events from 2014 and the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war up to the present day.

The director of the enterprise, Dmytro Danilenko, explained why the contest was combined with acquainting the children with history:

“Today, first of all, we want to say to our Defenders — thank you. For defending our country, our families and the future of our children. It was important for us that children, through their drawings, could also say their sincere ‘thank you’, know our history and understand the price at which our future is being fought for today. Deep respect to all who defend Ukraine, and eternal memory to those who gave their lives for it.”

According to the enterprise, the drawings will soon appear on city buses as a token of gratitude to the defenders from the little residents of Mykolaiv. The works have already been selected for this purpose, but their actual placement on the transport has not yet been announced.
