“We are stronger”: NATO has public and non-public ways to respond to Russia's hybrid attacks

NATO has both public and non-public ways to respond to hybrid attacks. This was stated by the Alliance’s Secretary General Mark Rutte during a press conference in Lithuania. According to theguardian.com.

According to Rutte, such attacks have an impact, but the Alliance has different options for response.

«All response options: sometimes visible, sometimes not».

The Secretary General also emphasized the importance of publicly naming Russia as responsible for such incidents if sufficient evidence supports it. He welcomed Estonia‘s decision to openly attribute responsibility to the Russian side.

According to Mark Rutte, the Alliance continues to act calmly and is working to counter such threats.

«We are stronger, and they know it», — said Mark Rutte.

Earlier, the Director of the United States Central Intelligence Agency, John Ratcliffe, during a visit to Moscow, warned Russian officials against escalating the situation with the United States‘ NATO allies, particularly the Baltic countries.
