Damaged six acacia trees — received a 510 UAH fine: damages exceeded 24,000 UAH
A man was found in a forest belt near the village of Luhove
On Tuesday, 29 September, near the village of Luhove in Mykolaiv district, a man was found who had illegally damaged six white acacia trees in a protective forest belt. The trees suffered damage up to the point of cessation of growth.
The man was spotted during environmental protection activities by state inspectors together with servicemen of the 26th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The incident was reported by the State Ecological Inspection of the South-Western District.
The inspection drew up an administrative protocol against the offender under Article 65-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses — destruction or damage of protective forest strips and protective tree plantations. The man was fined 510 hryvnias, and specialists estimated the damage caused to the greenery at over 24 thousand hryvnias.
