Robots will be sent on frontline missions instead of military personnel — former defense minister Fedorov

In Ukraine a project «Army of Robots» is being launched, intended to replace military personnel while performing the most dangerous tasks at the front. According to Facebook.

The initiative was described on Facebook by former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The team is basing it on the experience of the state program «Army of Drones».

Robotic systems are planned to be used for the following tasks:

• evacuation of the wounded;
• delivery of ammunition;
• mining and demining;
• reconnaissance;
• guarding positions;
• striking targets.

The initiative will be implemented in the private sector, outside the government. As part of the project the team plans to:

• invest in defense technology companies;
• launch their own developments;
• test the created solutions together with the military.

During a technology conference in Lviv the team of «Army of Robots» announced a search for defense companies and engineers working on robotic technologies.
