Two killed and at least eight injured: Kyiv was attacked by ballistic missiles

Last night, September 24, Kyiv suffered a Russian attack with ballistic missiles. Several series of explosions were heard in the capital, and debris fell in various parts of the city. In the morning, rescuers reported 2 dead and at least 8 injured.

Preliminarily, as of 2:50, city authorities reported 2 dead and 3 wounded who were hospitalized. Later the number of injured increased.

The consequences of the attack were recorded in several districts of the capital:

• In the Dniprovskyi district debris fell into the courtyards of a multi-storey and a private house, as well as near an administrative building. An 8-story non-residential building, a 16-story residential building and 2 private houses were damaged. One of them was partially destroyed; initially people were believed to be under the rubble. A 3-story administrative building was also damaged, where 1 injured person was found. At another address a private house was destroyed, 1 person was rescued, and 2 neighboring houses were damaged. Fires were extinguished.
• In the Podilskyi district debris fell on a parking lot near a medical facility. 4 cars caught fire; the fire was put out. A body of a deceased person was found in the parking lot. Windows and the facade of the maternity hospital were damaged, but no one inside was harmed. The nearby clinical-diagnostic center was also damaged. At another location a 1-story non-residential building was on fire — that fire was also extinguished.
• In the Solomianskyi district warehouse buildings were partially destroyed. After ignition the fire spread to the basement premises. The fire was extinguished; 3 injured were hospitalized.
• In the Sviatoshynskyi district a warehouse building was damaged.

During the attack the Air Forces warned about the threat of the use of ballistic weapons and possible missile launches from the Bryansk region. After the first explosions in the capital, another series occurred.

Rescuers and medical teams were dispatched to the areas of debris fall. Clearing the consequences continued even after the end of the air raid alert. All necessary services continued to operate at the debris impact sites.
