Gold at Home: Mykolaiv Acrobats Won Medals at the Ukrainian Cup

From September 9–12 in Mykolaiv there were two national sporting events in acrobatic tumbling — the Ukrainian Cup (senior) and the Open All‑Ukrainian Competitions among Age Groups. Mykolaiv athletes won team and individual awards in both tournaments.

In the overall team standings of the senior Cup, the teams of Mykolaiv Oblast took the following places:

• The first team won silver medals;
• The second team took bronze.

In the men’s team standings Mykolaiv competitors occupied the two top spots. The first team won gold and became the holder of the Ukrainian Cup. Its members were:

• Dmytro Negrov;
• Yaroslav Yehorov;
• Valentyn Sviatynchuk;
• Kostiantyn Chudakov.

The second team received silver medals in the men’s team standings; it was represented by:

• Andrii Dyachenko;
• Oleksii Drutskyi;
• Ivan Pavlenko;
• Mykhailo Sviatynchuk.

In the women’s team standings the first team of Mykolaiv Oblast took third place. It was represented by:

• Sofiia Bohza;
• Sofiia Tsiolkovska;
• Marharyta Yaholnik;
• Milana Kyslytsia.

Mykolaiv athletes also won awards in the individual men’s standings:

• Valentyn Sviatynchuk became the holder of the Ukrainian Cup;
• Kostiantyn Chudakov won the silver medal.

The senior team was prepared for the competition by:

• Viktor Semenuha;
• Daria Alekseieva;
• Viktoriia Karpenko;
• Olha Tsiolkovska.

At the same time, young Mykolaiv acrobats competed at the Open All‑Ukrainian Competitions among Age Groups. They won two silver medals:

• Matvii Kukurudziak took second place among boys in the U12 category;
• Vira Afonina became the silver medalist among girls in the U10 category.

The young athletes were prepared for the tournament by Daria Alekseieva and Olha Tsiolkovska.
