One track has been renovated, the other is being repaired: 6th Slobidska Street is being rebuilt in Mykolaiv
Robots covered a stretch more than 500 meters long
In Mykolaiv, a major overhaul is underway on a section of 6th Slobidska Street from Central Avenue to 1st Voienna Street. The work covers a stretch of more than 500 meters.
Before the road renovation, PJSC “Mykolaiv CHP” upgraded the underground utilities here. After that, specialists from Municipal Enterprise “Mykolaivelectrotrans” replaced the rail-sleeper grid on the first track and raised the rails to the design level. The Department of City Management began landscaping the area around this track.
Currently, employees of Municipal Enterprise “Mykolaivelectrotrans” are performing similar work on the opposing track. At the same time, stormwater drainage is being installed on the section to prevent flooding.
After these stages are completed, the contractor must begin asphalt paving of the roadway and then carry out the final landscaping.
The progress of the overhaul was inspected by Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych. According to him, problematic issues were discussed during a working meeting directly at the site.
Today we held a working meeting and discussed all problematic issues directly on site. Overall, the work is turning out to be of very high quality. Of course, if funding allowed, we could create pedestrian and green zones nearby. Unfortunately, we have to postpone this to a later date.
After the entire set of works is completed, the section of 6th Slobidska Street will be changed from one-way to two-way traffic. Due to the change in traffic scheme, specialists will need to completely update the road signs and apply new markings.
