A collision between a passenger car and a motorcycle in the Mykolaiv region claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl
A 14-year-old driver of a two-wheeler was injured in Kamianets
September 15 at about 18:00 in the village of Kamyanka of the Chornomorska community a ZAZ TF699P car driven by a 54-year-old man collided with a Geon Stinger motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider and passenger — two 14-year-old teenagers — sustained injuries of varying severity. The girl later died in hospital.
Investigators detained the car driver in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They are currently deciding whether to notify him of suspicion and to select a preventive measure.
On the fact of violating traffic safety rules or vehicle operation that caused the death of the victim, investigators of Police Station No. 7 of the Mykolaiv District Police Department opened a criminal case under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.
Police are establishing all circumstances and causes of the crash. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
