Morning Russian attack on Mykolaiv: two trolleybuses damaged and windows blown out in an apartment building

On Saturday morning, September 5, the Russian army attacked Mykolaiv again. The city mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, posted a video of the moment of the strike and reported on its consequences.

Experts are currently surveying the area, including the residential sector, and assessing the extent of the damage. Preliminary reports indicate that windows were blown out in a multi-story building.

Two city trolleybuses that were operating on their route during the attack were also damaged. As clarified by the municipal enterprise «MykolaivElectrotrans», these are vehicles of the «Dnipro» make. Their windows were blown out and some components were damaged. According to preliminary information, the passengers and drivers of the trolleybuses were not physically injured.

Relevant services are working on site, and specialists from «MykolaivElectrotrans» are assessing the damage.

“Fortunately, there are no casualties. Only the windows were blown out and some elements were damaged on the vehicles,” said Oleksandr Senkevych.

Throughout the night, employees of the city’s communal enterprises assisted the State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers at the fire site in the shopping center. They supplied water to the rescuers and directed water trucks and transport to the scene.

Municipal services monitored the situation and were ready to respond promptly. Currently all city services are operating, helping to eliminate the consequences of the attack and keeping the situation under control.

“I am grateful to everyone working on the ground to protect the city and its residents. The aggressor does not stop. Therefore I ask once again: take care of yourselves and always respond to air raid alerts,” the mayor urged.

Earlier it was reported that drones attacked Mykolaiv and an explosion was heard in the city. The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained why the “silence regime” did not take effect.
