In the Mykolaiv region, 18 people died in bodies of water, including two children
In Namyv, a teenager became the second child to die near the local pier this year
Since the beginning of the year there have been 23 incidents on the waters of Mykolaiv region, resulting in the deaths of 18 people. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast.
Among the dead are two children. At the same time, rescuers saved 11 people, including two children.
The day before, a tragedy occurred in Mykolaiv, in the Namyv neighborhood. A teenager died in the water in the area of the pier. Since the beginning of the year this is already the second case of a child’s death at this location.
A ban on swimming in rivers and spending time by the water is still in effect in Mykolaiv. It was introduced back in 2022.
