'Born to Win': International Arts Festival Held in Mykolaiv

On Sunday, August 30, at the Chestnut Square of Mykolaiv the international arts festival “Born to Win” took place, dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day. Young talents of various ages participated in the competition. The event was reported by the Department of Culture and Arts.

All program numbers were distinguished by high skill and originality, warmly supported by the audience’s sincere applause. A joint dance flash mob united those present into a single creative wave, and young performer and songwriter Olivia Tkachyk prepared her special prize for the winners.

The participants’ performances were judged by a star jury:

• Oksana Naumenko — Honored Artist of Popular Art of Ukraine, research associate at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, member of the attestation commission for the vocal-choral genre of KZ KOR “KOCNTR KOR”, member of the National All-Ukrainian Music Union, author of the project “Folk Prediction” (Kyiv).
• Adam William Wedraogo — choreographer, co-founder of the A6 ballet, teacher and director of the A6 Stars, A6 Sofiyskiy, A6 Jump studios; works in hip-hop, funk, ragga dancehall, Jackson style, afro and latino; choreographer of the pre-match ceremonies of Euro-2012 in Kyiv, founder of the afro show Bambata, MC and DJ in clubs (Kyiv).
• Oleksandr Sychov — Honored Artist of Ukraine, composer, holder of the honorary distinction “Star of Culture of the City of Mykolaiv”, laureate of the Mykola Arkas prize.

All festival participants received diplomas and medals for their skill and creative achievements.

The festival was organized by the NGO “Creative Association ‘On the Waves of a Dream'” with the support of the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the Charity Foundation “Dobro Ye” and the Nazarii Yaremchuk Fans Club.
