Oleksandr Syrskyi entered a doctoral program after being relieved of his post as commander-in-chief
The general continued his service in the Defense Forces of Ukraine
Former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, after being relieved of his post enrolled in the doctoral program at the National Defense University of Ukraine. Hromadske reported this, citing its own sources close to the general.
After his resignation, Syrskyi underwent a routine medical examination. The military medical commission declared him fit for military service, after which the general continued to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The reason for this is that the National Defense University of Ukraine is part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. In the doctoral program the general will also work on a doctoral dissertation.
“He declined civilian positions. He will work in the field he has worked in his whole life — systematizing and passing on the experience he has acquired to Ukrainian and Western military personnel,” the source said.
Earlier Oleksandr Syrskyi made his first statement after being relieved of his post as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
