In Mykolaiv, 45 schools will operate in-person, and another 12 — remotely
The new school year in the city's schools will begin on September 1
In Mykolaiv, the formats for organizing the educational process in general secondary education institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year have been determined. The Executive Committee approved the relevant decisions taking into account the security situation, shelter readiness, and the capabilities of each school.
The school year will begin on 1 September 2026 and continue until 30 June 2027. The organization of the educational process in city schools was also approved by the military administration.
Education in Mykolaiv schools will be organized in three formats:
- 45 institutions will operate in-person;
- 7 institutions will use a hybrid format;
- 12 institutions will teach children remotely.
“The form of instruction was determined by the pedagogical councils of each institution, taking into account above all the safety of children and staff and the possibilities for organizing a quality educational process,” — said Deputy Head of the City Council’s Department of Education Svitlana Mkarova.
If the security situation changes, the learning format may be reviewed. Relevant decisions will be made by the pedagogical councils of the educational institutions.
Mykolaiv is also continuing preparations of schools for the new academic year so that children can receive education in safe and comfortable conditions.
