Zelensky awarded eight representatives of the Mykolaiv region to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence
Among those honored are officials, divers from Pivdennoukrainsk, and cultural figures
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored eight representatives of the Mykolaiv region with state awards on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The corresponding decree was published on the official website of the President.
The awards were granted for significant merits in strengthening Ukrainian statehood, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, contributions to the development of various spheres of public life, and conscientious performance of professional duties.
The title “Honored Worker of the Social Sphere of Ukraine” was conferred on the deputy head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Yurii Granaturov.

The title “Honored Worker of the Service Sector of Ukraine” was awarded to the head of the housing and communal services department of the Mykolaiv RMA Yevhen Hladkov.

The Order “For Courage” III class was awarded to four divers of LLC “Arsenal-Bud Montazh”:
- Leonid Ignatyuk;
- Vasyl Maksymov;
- Oleksandr Turytsia;
- Oleh Shcherbatiuk.
The company from Pivdennoukrainsk specializes in hydraulic engineering and diving works. Its specialists, in particular, raise sunken vessels, large floating craft and metal structures from the water.
During the full-scale war the company’s employees perform critically important hydraulic engineering and restoration works for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities.
Two more representatives of Mykolaiv received honorary titles in the field of culture. The title “Merited Artist of Ukraine” was conferred on the head of the department of the Chornomorets National University named after Petro Mohyla, Yurii Odrobinskyi.

The trainer and expert in Tavrian painting of the public organization “Center for Adult Learning and Education ‘Pivden’”, Liubov Paranyuk, became a “Merited Master of Folk Arts of Ukraine”.

The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
August 23, on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine, residents of Mykolaiv wore vyshyvankas, took Ukrainian flags in their hands and marched in a festive procession along Soborna Street. Photos from the event were published by the MykVisti outlet in a report.
Recall that in February, on the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already awarded state honors to residents of Mykolaiv region for their significant contribution to strengthening statehood and defending the country.
