Without naming names, but with Arakhamia on camera: Fedorov said there is a governance crisis
Defense industry, pharmaceuticals and the gambling business: former minister hinted at private interests in the Rada
Former Ukrainian Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov published an address to Ukrainians on the evening of 18 August 2026 on his official YouTube channel. According to Fedorov, the old management system lives by its own rules, protects itself, fears change, and makes decisions slowly. It can punish initiative, reward loyalty, and preserve ineffective structures for years.
Fedorov emphasized that the state must have clear goals, a strategy, and effective teams. Parliamentary governance, in his view, should be built on the majority’s program, values and principles, not on private interests in the defense sector, pharmaceuticals, gambling business and taxation. It was during these words in the video that Davyd Arakhamia was shown speaking with journalists.
“Parliament – the heart of Ukrainian democracy, not its wallet”, – said Mykhailo Fedorov.
At the same time Fedorov did not mention Arakhamia by name in the speech and did not directly accuse him of ties to the listed sectors. Therefore, the politician’s appearance in the video sequence can be interpreted as a political signal or hint, but not as a direct accusation voiced by the ex-minister.
Fedorov also called for introducing the principle of personal responsibility of the authorities: officials must be accountable for results, explain their decisions, and show how budget funds are being spent.
