Sambo athletes from Mykolaiv region won three medals at the Ukrainian Cup
Oleksandr Hyk won gold, Vitaliy Krasnozhon won silver, and Pavlo Pinzul won bronze
Athletes from Mykolaiv region won three medals at the Ukrainian Cup in sport and combat sambo. The competition took place 14–16 August in Ivano-Frankivsk. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
Men and women took part in the tournament. Competitors contested 32 sets of medals in four disciplines. In addition, the Ukrainian Cup served as a selection stage for the national team that will take part in the World Championship.
Three athletes represented Mykolaiv region at the competition:
- Oleksandr Hyk — gold medal in the weight category up to 88 kg;
- Vitali Krasnozhon — silver medal in the weight category up to 79 kg;
- Pavlo Pinzul — bronze medal in the weight category up to 88 kg.
The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration congratulated the athletes and their coaches on the results.
Earlier, athletes of the Mykolaiv School of Higher Sports Mastery won six medals at the Ukrainian Cycling Championships. The competitions took place in Lviv 10–14 August.
