In Kyiv Oblast, a dispute over utility bills ended with a grenade
In the settlement of Kotsyubynske, Bucha Raion a man, after a dispute over utility charges, threw an object into the office of a municipal enterprise that turned out to be a training grenade. No one was injured. This was reported by the Kyiv Oblast police.
The report of the dangerous incident was received by law enforcement on August 6 at around 13:20. Initially the complainant reported that an unknown man had thrown into the premises of one of the municipal enterprises an object resembling a grenade. Police rapid response patrol units and an investigative-operational team from the Bucha District Police Department arrived at the scene.
According to preliminary investigation, the incident involved a 48-year-old local resident. Law enforcement established that earlier the man had a dispute over utility charges. After the argument he threw a training grenade into an office of the administrative building. As a result of the incident no one was injured.
Investigators have opened a criminal proceeding under Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
