In Mykolaiv, patients with strokes are temporarily being admitted to City Hospital No. 1 and City Hospital No. 5. Routing was changed due to a malfunction of diagnostic equipment at one of the city’s medical facilities.
This was reported on August 4 during an operational meeting by the head of the Health Department of the Mykolaiv City Council, Iryna Shamray.
At City Hospital No. 4, the stroke unit is temporarily not operating due to a malfunction of the CT scanner. The equipment has already been sent to the manufacturer for repair.
At the same time, installation of a new magnetic resonance imaging scanner at the hospital is being completed. The supplier plans to finish the installation and commission the MRI by August 15. After that, the facility plans to resume operation of the stroke unit.
According to Iryna Shamray, the issue of providing care to patients with strokes was discussed with relevant experts. Currently the main burden falls on City Hospital No. 1 and City Hospital No. 5, which provide continuous care to the city’s residents.
