Mykolaiv region received a 1 MW energy storage unit for hospitals and thermal power plants as part of aid

Delivery has been coordinated with the Regional Military Administrations (OVAs) and energy companies: all six regions have already received and deployed the equipment at energy facilities

The Ministry of Energy has delivered an electricity storage system with a capacity of 1 MW for the needs of Mykolaiv region’s critical infrastructure, and this set has already been delivered to the region; the transfer was reported by the First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

According to the ministry, similar storage units of 1 MW were also sent to energy facilities and medical institutions in Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions.

The Ministry explained that the storage systems are intended to ensure uninterrupted operation of critically important consumers and to increase the reliability of power supply at thermal power plants, hydroelectric facilities, and in regional hospitals.

The ministry noted that the decision on the distribution of equipment was repeatedly coordinated in advance with the heads of regional military administrations and energy companies, and all planned sets have already arrived in their destination regions.

The sets, with a total value of over 9 million euros, were provided by the Swiss company Tetra Laval International SA; the Ministry of Energy expressed gratitude to Switzerland for supporting Ukraine’s energy sector and strengthening the country’s energy resilience.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has received 3325 units of energy equipment and is expecting delivery of more than 1520 generators, 450 transformers and 159 other units.
