Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov placed the blame on the American side for the failure of the so-called “anchorage agreements” between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, he said July 24.

Russian media reported the remarks of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry

According to Lavrov, the Russian delegation arrived at the summit in Alaska after a prior review of the American proposals for resolving the war in Ukraine, and Moscow allegedly accepted the compromise proposed by Washington.

“President Trump repeatedly said, ‘This is our proposal, it’s partly a compromise,’ and we accepted it. But he added that Zelensky would do what he proposed. Well, that didn’t work out,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

He also claims that the Russian side fulfilled its part of the agreements and has no reason to feel guilty in this matter.

“You know how they say, a man’s word: the man said it — the man did it. We said — we are ready. But on the other side they modified this approach,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
