The new trunk water pipeline, built to supply Mykolaiv with water, will be partially used to supply Kherson as well. This was stated by Mykolaiv Regional Council deputy Alla Ryazhskykh on the broadcast of the program “Dialogue” on the TV channel “MART”.

Commenting on the project to complete Tashlyk PSP by raising the level of the Oleksandrivske Reservoir, the deputy noted that, according to her, the environmental impact assessment report did not take into account the volumes of water that the new pipeline will withdraw. Because of this, as Ryazhskykh believes, the math in the EIA calculations “doesn’t add up”. During the broadcast she also voiced information about the possible supply of part of the water to Kherson:

“And Kherson will take part; some share of the water will be provided to Kherson from our pipeline,” – the deputy said.

According to Alla Ryazhskykh, the additional water withdrawals that were not accounted for in the documentation make it impossible to implement the reservoir-level raise project in its proposed form.

This concerns the completion of the construction of the Tashlyk PSP with raising the level of the Oleksandrivske Reservoir to 16.9 meters. Earlier, the Mykolaiv District Administrative Court found illegal and annulled the Ministry of Culture’s decision to approve the relevant project documentation. At the same time, the official statement of the Mykolaiv Regional Council about the broadcast does not specify the volumes or the mechanism of the possible water supply to Kherson.
