The water at the beaches of Mykolaiv region meets standards, but swimming is officially prohibited
The Ministry of Health inspected the water bodies of Mykolaiv Oblast: where the water is safe according to the indicators
In most of the checked bathing spots in Ukraine, the water meets sanitary requirements. At the same time, on the water bodies of Mykolaiv region a ban on swimming continues to apply.
As reported on 15 July 2026 by the Ministry of Health, from 2 to 8 July specialists tested 87 water samples from rivers and water bodies within official beach zones of Ukraine. Four samples, or 4.6%, did not meet sanitary standards by microbiological indicators.
In Mykolaiv region the water met standards at the beach “Райдуга” in Pervomaisk, the beaches of Pivdennoukrainsk and Nova Odesa on the Southern Bug, the beach “Стрілка” in Mykolaiv on the Inhul River, the beaches “Чайка” and “Намив” on the Bug estuary, as well as in Kobleve and the village of Ukrainka on the Tyligul estuary.
At the same time, according to the order of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration (OVA), swimming in the region’s water bodies is prohibited. In addition, water within the local beach area of the village Kryve Ozero in Pervomaisk district on the Bilboka River did not meet sanitary standards.
The Ministry of Health reminded that weather conditions can quickly affect water quality, so people should only use specially designated and equipped places and follow official announcements.
