In Mykolaiv, new Rules of Urban Improvement are being prepared that will set requirements for cleanliness and the maintenance of city areas, greening, the placement of kiosks (MAFs) and advertising, waste management, and other elements of urban space. This was reported on 6 July 2026 by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The public discussion of the document will take place on 10 July 2026 at 14:00 in a hybrid format. You can join the meeting in person at the Mykolaiv Recovery Office, or remotely — via Zoom.

The city council draft decision “On the Approval of the Rules of Urban Improvement of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community” was published on 23 June 2026. Along with it, the city council’s website posted a notice of publication and a regulatory impact analysis.

Residents, entrepreneurs, representatives of public organizations, and other interested parties are invited to submit proposals and comments. The city council says that citizens’ participation should help make the document clear, modern, and feasible to implement.

Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych urged Mykolaiv residents not to remain on the sidelines, since the rules will directly affect the everyday appearance of the city.

“We want to make these rules clear and realistic to implement. Therefore, it is important to hear those who live and work here”.

According to the mayor, these are basic issues: cleanliness in the city, regulation of kiosks (MAFs) and advertising, maintenance of green areas, and waste management. Residents can review the draft document in advance and then voice their comments during the discussion.

Residents’ participation is especially important given the regular problems with illegal trade, territory cluttering, litter, and improper maintenance of plots. In the Korabelnyi district alone, violations of the current improvement rules regularly lead to warnings and administrative protocols.
