Nine dead: a Mercedes route minibus overturned and went under a truck on the Odesa — Mykolaiv highway
Eight more people were injured
On the morning of July 4, 2026 in the Mykolaiv region, a large road traffic accident occurred involving a Mercedes Sprinter passenger minibus and a Volvo truck. According to preliminary data, 9 people were killed and another 8 people were injured.
This reports the communication department of the Mykolaiv region police and the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
The report about the crash on the M-14 “Odesa – Melitopol – Novoazovsk” highway between the villages of Krasne and Nechayane was received by the police at around 07:40.
According to preliminary information from the authorities, the Mercedes Sprinter minibus was carrying passengers from Odesa to Mykolaiv. The driver left the roadway, after which the vehicle overturned and uncontrollably entered the oncoming lane.
In the oncoming lane the minibus collided with a Volvo truck. Preliminary reports indicate that 9 people were killed in the crash and another 8 people were injured.
Rescuers assisted in evacuating the injured and the bodies of the deceased from the mangled minibus. Additionally, a psychologist from the State Emergency Service is working at the scene. Law enforcement have not yet released information about the ages of the deceased and the injured, or their conditions.
Police investigators and other emergency services are working at the scene of the tragedy. Patrol police inspectors are regulating traffic and ensuring the safety of other drivers on this section of the highway.

The figures on the number of victims and injured are preliminary and may be revised.
