After the publicity, the mobilized father of a 5-year-old girl was allowed to go home
A mobilized father was released only after a scandal
In Kryvyi Rih, a 34-year-old man who had been mobilized while his 5-year-old daughter was at kindergarten was released to go home. This was reported on July 1, 2026 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
The man has already met with his daughter. He was released to resolve matters related to the child and to complete the necessary paperwork. The circumstances of his mobilization continue to be investigated.
The ombudsman’s representative in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Oleksiy Urlatkin, spoke with the man in person. According to him, he was released to resolve issues concerning the child and to complete the necessary paperwork.
It was previously reported that the man was mobilized while his daughter was at kindergarten. The girl’s mother does not take part in her upbringing, so the kindergarten director temporarily took the child in.
According to Dmytro Lubinets, the man twice submitted documents to obtain a deferment but was denied. The Dnipropetrovsk Regional TCC and SPC stated that he did not have an officially granted deferment, and the submitted documents did not confirm that he was the child’s sole caregiver. After public outcry and the ombudsman’s intervention, the man was allowed to return home to complete the paperwork.
Earlier, a formal investigation was also launched at the Mykolaiv Regional TCC and SPC following checks by representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
