A father was mobilized while his daughter was at kindergarten: the director took the child in
The kindergarten director came to the TCK with the child, but she was unable to get the father back
In Kryvyi Rih, a case involving the mobilization of a 34-year-old man, with whom, by court decision, his 5-year-old daughter lives, has come to public attention. At the time the child was at kindergarten, so the institution’s director had to temporarily shelter her. The situation was reported on June 29, 2026 by the local media «SVOI | Kryvyi Rih», citing kindergarten No.125 director Natalia Yevtushenko.
According to the director, the girl’s father was mobilized while she was at the kindergarten. The child’s mother practically does not take part in her upbringing, although she pays alimony. By court decision the girl lives with her father. Local journalists reported that the man was wanted and twice submitted documents for a deferment, but was denied.
At the same time the media notes that in the court register journalists did not find a separate decision that would confirm that the man is the sole caregiver of the child. The absence of such a document could have been the reason for the deferment denial, but this is only the journalists’ assumption and not an officially established fact.
The kindergarten director, together with the girl, went to the building of one of the district TCC and SP, trying to resolve the situation. Law enforcement and juvenile prevention representatives also arrived there. According to the local outlet, journalists waited for a resolution for more than four hours, but were unable to return the father to the child.
According to Natalia Yevtushenko, she was forced to take the girl to her home overnight, since it was impossible to leave a young child unattended. Local journalists appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets requesting that he intervene in the situation and protect the child’s rights.
At the time of writing, there was no official comment from the respective TCC and SP in open sources. Therefore, the circumstances of the incident are currently presented based on the kindergarten director’s and local journalists’ statements.
