A Russian drone burned 20 hectares of wheat in the Halytsynivka community
In total, rescuers extinguished 27 fires in open areas
In the Halytsynivska community of Mykolaiv district, a large fire broke out in a field after an attack by a Russian drone. The blaze completely destroyed 20 hectares of standing wheat.
This was reported on July 1, 2026 by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast.
Overall, during the day firefighters in Mykolaiv region extinguished 27 fires in open areas. The fire destroyed more than 40 hectares of fields, dry vegetation, shrubs and rubbish.
The greatest damage was suffered by grain crops. Wheat fields burned twice.
Outside the village of Dmytrivka in the Kazankivska community of Bashtanka district, the blaze engulfed 6 hectares of wheat and 1 hectare of dry grass. Firefighters stopped the spread of the fire and saved another 4.6 hectares of grain.
In the Bereznehuvatska community of Bashtanka district, rescuers extinguished a fire of stubble residues and dry vegetation over an area of 2 hectares.
In the villages of Parutyne in the Kutsurubska community and Horokhivka in the Voskresenska community, the fire from dry vegetation spread to farm outbuildings in the private sector.
Another 23 fires of vegetation, shrubs and rubbish were extinguished in the Voskresenska, Berezanska, Zavodska, Kostiantynivska, Kutsurubska and Stepivska communities of Mykolaiv district, the Voznesenska and Mostivska communities of Voznesensk district, the Bereznehuvatska, Kazankivska and Snihurivska communities of Bashtanka district, as well as in the city of Mykolaiv.
In addition, in Bashtanka the roof and roof structure of a one-story stone summer kitchen were on fire. The fire was extinguished over an area of 25 square meters.
In the village of Mariivka of the Prybuzka community in Voznesensk district, firefighters extinguished a haystack measuring 50 square meters.
The extinguishing involved 130 rescuers and 35 units of firefighting and rescue equipment.
Local fire protection units “Shyrokolanivske”, “Halytsynove”, “Stepivske” and “Sukha Balka” also operated. In some cases rescuers were assisted by local entrepreneurs and a municipal enterprise in Voznesensk district.
The causes of the fires are being established.
