The Ministry of Development has approved a new heat supply scheme for Mykolaiv until 2044
The document provides for the modernization of facilities and networks
The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine approved Mykolaiv’s heat supply scheme until 2044. The document will determine directions for modernizing the city’s energy infrastructure over the next 18 years.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council on 24 June 2026.
The scheme’s defense took place on 20 June at the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development. The document was presented by specialists from the Institute of Industrial Ecology.
A delegation from Mykolaiv participated in the defense, headed by Deputy Mayor Serhiy Koreniev. It also included representatives of city departments, the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivoblteploenergo” and PJSC “Mykolaiv CHPP”.
Work on the heat supply scheme began in November 2024. It was developed by the international consulting group COWI and the Institute of Industrial Ecology with financial support from the Danish Energy Agency.
The document provides for:
- reconstruction and modernization of heat supply facilities;
- updating and improving the reliability of the heating networks;
- implementation of energy-efficient solutions;
- reducing the sector’s negative impact on the environment;
- taking into account the city’s future development.
Based on the defense results, the Ministry commission decided to approve the scheme. The corresponding order should be published on the ministry’s website.
After that the document should be submitted for consideration to the deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council. The scheme must be finally approved at the local level during a session.
