23 fires in 24 hours in Mykolaiv region: a man died

18 of 23 call-outs were due to dry grass fires; a deceased man born in 1939 was found in Novopavlivka

Over the 24-hour period on June 21 and the night of June 22, rescuers recorded 23 responses to extinguish fires in Mykolaiv Oblast; one of the incidents in the village of Novopavlivka in Bashtanka district resulted in the death of a man born in 1939.

The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast informed about the number of calls and the circumstances of the incidents, publishing a summary on its Telegram channel at the following link.

The fatal fire occurred in a private residence in the village of Novopavlivka in Bashtanka district, where a room of the house caught fire, and during the extinguishing of the blaze the body of the owner born in 1939 was discovered.

Due to the ignition of dry vegetation near the villages of Yevhenivka and Snihurivka, the flames spread to farm outbuildings, resulting in a total of 130 sq. m of vegetation and 25 sq. m of buildings burned out; however, firefighters saved two residential houses from destruction.

In the village of Mishkovo-Pohorilove, Mykolaiv district, firefighters extinguished a fire in a VAZ-2103 vehicle; the fire affected about 3 sq. m.

In the village of Novobohdanivka of the Radsadivska community, the roof of a non-residential, unused building was on fire; the area of the fire was approximately 50 sq. m.

Also, in various communities across the region another 18 cases of burning dry vegetation, garbage and forest belts on open areas were recorded.
