In Mykolaiv, two new buses were purchased to transport schoolchildren. The vehicles were handed over to Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 40, which is located in the Korabelnyi district. This was reported on 10 June 2026 by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The purchase was made as part of the state program to renew the school vehicle fleet. Part of the cost of the vehicles was financed from a state subsidy, the remainder – from the local budget of Mykolaiv. The new buses will be used for organized transportation of students to the lyceum. This should improve children’s access to education, especially for families who live far from the institution or have difficulties with public transport.

Present at the handover were the deputy mayor Anatolii Petrov, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim, the head of the regional council Anton Tabunshchyk, the head of the city council’s education department Hanna Lychko, as well as representatives of the city and regional authorities and the community.

The issue of transporting children in the Korabelnyi district had already been raised by parents. Previously, residents complained that after the school bus stopped running, families had to find ways to get their children to the educational institution every day on their own. The transfer of two buses at once should partially solve this problem. At the same time, it is important that the vehicles do not simply sit on the lyceum’s balance sheet, but regularly run routes, have drivers, fuel, and proper technical maintenance.
