A dispute ended in the hospital: in Mykolaiv a man received three stab wounds
The police identified the attacker within a few hours
In Mykolaiv, police quickly identified and located the man suspected of a knife attack on a stranger.
The incident occurred at about 11:00 PM on June 7, 2026 on General Oleksa Almazov Street. Passersby called the emergency line 102, reporting a fight near the supermarket.
Patrol officers and the investigative-operational group of the Mykolaiv District Police Department arrived at the scene. On the supermarket steps, officers found a 24-year-old man with injuries.
The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. He is currently in a postoperative condition.
During operational-search and investigative actions, police established that a sudden verbal conflict had broken out between the two strangers. During the dispute, the attacker stabbed the victim three times in different parts of his body and fled.
Law enforcement reviewed footage from CCTV cameras, including those connected to the system “Safe City”. Thanks to this, operatives, with the support of analysts from the Criminal Analysis Department, identified the attacker and his whereabouts.
The suspect turned out to be a 29-year-old local resident.
Investigators, in agreement with the District Prosecutor’s Office of Mykolaiv, notified him of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional grievous bodily harm.
For the crime, the man faces up to eight years’ imprisonment.
The court is expected to impose a preventive measure on the suspect in the near future. The pre-trial investigation continues.
