The court found a resident of Mykolaiv guilty of the unauthorized dissemination of information about the locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during martial law and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the man used electronic maps to record the deployment sites of Ukrainian troops in Mykolaiv, paying particular attention to locations with large concentrations of personnel and equipment.

Investigators established that the collected coordinates were passed by the perpetrator through an agent of the Russian special services, Serhii Lebedev, known under the pseudonym “Lohmaty”.

The verdict was handed down under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides liability for the unauthorized dissemination of information about the placement of defense forces under martial law.

As clarified by the SBU Directorate in Mykolaiv Oblast, the convicted man is a 45-year-old local resident who adjusted Russia’s missile and drone strikes on the port city and, acting on the instructions of “Lohmaty”, prepared a new series of air attacks on the regional center.

To collect information, the suspect drove around the streets of Mykolaiv, monitored the areas with the highest concentration of Ukrainian military personnel and recorded potential targets for subsequent transmission to the occupiers.

The convicted man is in custody. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by officers of the SBU Directorate in Mykolaiv Oblast.
