Mykolaivvodokanal will increase employees' salaries by 30%
The increase is in accordance with the sectoral agreement
From 1 July 2026 the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» of the city of Mykolaiv plans to increase employees’ salaries and tariff rates by 30%, the enterprise’s director Hennadiy Izyumov reported during a broadcast of the “Dialogue” program on the MART TV channel.
The head noted that the pay system is formed in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and the current industry agreement, and at the beginning of the year the enterprise already adjusted salaries upward.
“The issue of wages is very important to us. From 1 January 2026 the enterprise has already increased salaries and tariff rates by 10%, and from 1 July 2026, according to the industry agreement, a further increase of 30% is planned. The average salary of employees in the first quarter of 2026 was 26 thousand 300 hryvnias, whereas a year ago it was 22 thousand 700 hryvnias. So wages for us are increasing significantly,” — said Hennadiy Izyumov.
According to him, some employees express dissatisfaction with the timing of increases in tariff grades, which directly affects earnings. The enterprise has a qualification commission that meets twice a year, and department heads submit candidates for qualification upgrades to it.
After passing certification and exams, employees can apply for a higher grade, but within the limits set by the industry agreement.
“Employees who service networks up to 300 millimeters in diameter can have no higher than the second grade. Those who work on networks with a diameter over 300 millimeters can upgrade their qualifications up to the fifth grade. Accordingly, as the grade increases, the employee’s wage level also increases,” — explained Hennadiy Izyumov.
In addition, the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal” appealed to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention with an initiative to conduct an unscheduled inspection.
Scandal at the Vodokanal
Earlier, the staff of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal” protested against the new management and the Supervisory Board, accusing them of unprofessionalism and claiming that the enterprise was allegedly being prepared for privatization, while the Supervisory Board together with director Hennadiy Izyumov responded that the vodokanal had fallen into a critical financial condition due to a prolonged management crisis, ineffective management and systemic problems.
During a meeting with the new general director on 15 April the dismissal of technical director Vasyl Telpis, who had worked since the 1980s and after the death of Borys Dudenko had performed the duties of the head, was discussed; Izyumov assured that the decision on his dismissal had been made by the Supervisory Board, however the Supervisory Board itself denied this.
At the same time, Izyumov emphasized that there were no mass dismissals: a reorganization of the structure and cuts of positions with duplicating functions are underway, and employees who fall under reductions are offered alternative vacancies.
